Note that the failures I see are after a clean boot... most of the above are reports of a problem after a dirty boot.
I've seen the issue on several machines now... all after performing "sudo apt-get upgrade/update".
This is a very serious issue for any unattended or kiosk type machine. I ask for an "urgent" rating on the bug.
