Grub not accepting change and /dev/sdb5 taking forever to boot after upgrade to 11.04

Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I've changed the default in grub to Windows several times, but it still boots into Ubuntu.
Also, the boot takes a VERY long time and prints an error about /dev/sdb5 not being available.
