Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

As I'm updating to a new Linux kernel, a crash report is generated. Not really sure what's going on, so hopefully the extra debug information that is being added to this report automatically will help clear things up. I went ahead and upgraded to 10.04 (previously 9.10) in the hopes that the upgrade would fix things, but it didn't.

Whenever I use a package manager at all, I get a warning pop-up window mentioning how nothing has been changed, yet everything seems to install and run just fine.

Fixed it:

This is a duplicate of Bug #533728. I tried to alter my GRUB startup menu by adding a picture, and I think that's what went wrong. The instructions were either bad, or for an older version of Ubuntu that doesn't use GRUB2, I suppose.
