Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

I'm trying to install grub2 to bootsector of a logicial partition with the following command
grub-install -root-directory=/medua/.... /dev/sda6 --force
It warn's me about not writing to MBR, but it fails silently.

If I read the bootsector with dd if=/dev/sda6 of=bootsect.lnx count=1 bs=512
the file is filled with zeroes.
Either the bootsector is written to wrong position or it's not written at all.
If I write grub2 to bootsector of primary partition I get the same warning about MBR but the
bootsector is written correctly.
