Bug Description
Binary package hint: grub2
a few days ago I upgraded my karmic box from grub to grub2. one issue that I encountered is that the line "save default" in /boot/grub/menu.lst turned into "boot 0default". I assume some expression in a sed script not working as expected.

Actually it seems that this was with intent. But this has been
implemented long ago so nobody knows now really.
I can only imagine the intention is to make GRUB 2 make the default
(which still works even if there's text behind the 0) but still somehow
preserve the old value.
But for that IMO it would be better to comment out the existing line and
just add a new one for less confusion.
