Bug Description
During attempted update of karmic via sudo update-manager -d, a 2 line 'Deb GRUB boot config' screen appears on which the first line is empty. Contextual Help tells us that line is supposed to contain the Linux boot command drawn from menu.lst (GRUB boot menu) and it is presented for your approval. Because the line was empty and being unsure of the consequences, we cancelled that window and that resulted in this error msg:
E: grub-pc: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
