Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

Motherboard: MSI K8N Diamond MB
4 SATA Drives, System root and boot live on sdc1
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+

I performed and upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10

I had already installed grub2 in 9.04

I expect the system to boot normally. However it boots to grub rescue mode and if you exit from there it kicks back a Grub 22 error (file not found)

I also meant to add (if not apparent from the processor name) this is a 64 bit system.
Also have 3 gig of ram on the box.
Any other questions please let me know.

Error 22 is an error from GRUB Legacy, not GRUB 2. It sounds as though
you still accidentally have GRUB Legacy installed somewhere, and
furthermore that you have a GRUB 2 installation that wasn't correctly
updated on upgrade to 9.10. I'd recommend running 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure
grub-pc' to re-educate the GRUB 2 package about where it should install
itself.

This bug was probably caused by the problem described in bug 496435, which is now fixed in Lucid.
