Bug Description
Binary package hint: grub-pc
I have installed karmik alpha6 just a few days ago from live-cd. I used the same /home partition I was using with jaunty
I have dual boot too, so I can boot XP, that is located in a separated disk.
The problem is that when booting, it shows to me the Starting Grub message, and it takes from 30 to 40 seconds to show boot menu. In the meanwhile, It does some disk read, like looking for something.
I dont know if there is a configuration issue, because I have not found documentation to lead with this problem, nor google search has brougth nothing related with this.
Thank you

Same behaviour also in my case... it shows a first message... than starts to works on the disk for a while (about 20.30 secs) and then it shows the boot menu.
I have this "problem" since a mount or two.
