Installation shows an error message "The ‘grub-efi-amd64-signed’ package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot."
This seems to be a known Ubuntu issue which might be fixed by setting the BIOS to "Legacy boot mode". However legacy boot mode is not supported by intel anymore.
