Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

Hi with recent grub-pc I get on start a fast repeating error message saying that there is an syntax error and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I had to boot a Livecd and edit the /boot/grub/grub.cfg to make grub work again, here is a piece from it with my changes:

### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/00_header ###
set default=0
set timeout=5
set root=(hd0,2)

## Causes Syntaxerror on startup
#if font (hd0,2)/usr/share/grub/unicode.pff ; then
# set gfxmode=640x480
# insmod gfxterm
# insmod vbe
# terminal gfxterm
#fi

### END /etc/grub.d/00_header ###

I'm using a Sony Vaio SZ2M-B with an Intelchipset (Core Duo, GMA950)

I was able to stop this behavior by purging the grub-pc package and
reinstalling it.
