From the log:

frontend: Fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server :0.0.

It appears that there was a prompt open and you xkilled it or logged out of Xwindows. Try running sudo apt-get install -f in a terminal to finish upgrading this package and answer any prompt it has for you.
