update-grub causes error messages when accessing extended partition

Bug Description

Running update-grup causes a lot of scary error messages being logged in dmesg because it fails to recognize the extended partition type (so it appears).

Yes; the errors are because it is trying to mount the partition with every known filesystem type, and failing since it does not contain a filesystem.
