Bug Description

Upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 went wrong - was getting getting cannot fing glibc 2.14 error - in terminal recovery mode I ran sudo apt-get install -f --fix - this got ubuntou back for me - unfortunately the front login screen stetes the release is 11.10 but my desktop 64 bit thinks its 12.04 - get a message stating cannot upgrade from precise to oneric not possible - I ignored the partial up grade screen and downloaded 1106 upgrades and here I am at this point

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
