Bug Description

In the process of installing updates and an unusual set of options came up regarding whether to upgrade to a newer version of grub or keep the same one. I selected the option to upgrade and this error happened.

It appears to be stuck with the upgrade only partially completed

This is an unsupported release now. Please think to install the next LTS 'Bionic 18.04'
