the menu.1st file autogenerated during the instalation has comments about this os being a debian

it's a really really low priority bug,

sed -i 's/debian/Ubuntu/g; s/DEBIAN/Ubuntu/g' /boot/grub/menu.1st

this is part of my menu.1st file
