There's also a line showing in booting process that says something like:
"init read head process terminated (5)".
This line gets increased to 4 lines when I've added the splashimage (*.tpa), but as
noted, the duplicate listing disappears when the splashimage is added in one way or another.
I guess programming is a continuing challenge and one may want to look at programming standards of the
kind that Civilization 3 represents (by Sid Meier).
Perhaps one can give people an account of mistakes as well as feats in what they contribute to the project, i.e.,
Ubuntu, Open Source Software, all else...
Cheers!

Somehow, the extra lines under the "init...[some]... 5" are now gone! Only this line remains.
This also applies to Lucid Lynx 10.04 and I'm not sure if this phenomenon appears in f.x. Maverick Meerkat 10.10 or the-soon-to-come Natty Narwhal 11.04.

I have now tried Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat 10.10 and the boot-up goes flawlessly.
There's no problem with the boot-up whatsoever despite manipulation of the grub(2).

After the upgrade one should be careful to watch for changes in one's grub settings and keep control over these.

This bug can now be considered a noir technicality of the Lucid Lynx 10.04 and the future should be looking bright!
