2011-02-20 04:35:18 Miguel Tavares description 1 - Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 2 - Linux ubuntu 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 21 17:40:44 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux mtavares@ubuntu:/host/ubuntu$ apt-cache policy grub grub: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.97-29ubuntu60 Version table: 0.97-29ubuntu60 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages 3 && 4 - Hi all, I've installed on a desktop Ubuntu 10.10 using wubi.exe with dual-boot functionality and basically that desktop as 2 hdds. I've specified the drive which it should mount the /host and basically after the final configuration or on the first boot, it drops me to a shell. Well, after checking that the /boo/grub/grub.cfg was pointing to a different drive "sda1" which didn't contain the /host/ubuntu...., i've unmounted it and fetched for the drive that had the /ubuntu inside mounting several dev's and for my amazement, the one that had the /ubuntu was sdb1 which is totally different from the one configured upon using the wubi.exe. After rectifying grub.cfg to mount the correct drive and slice, the system was up and running. So now the /host was mounted with the correct hdd and the /dev/loop worked perfectly. Just a Post Scryptum if i may, I am a fan of Linux systems since Torvalds came out with its first kernel in 1972 and currently, this version of Ubuntu just Rocks Big Time Guys. Awesome piece of work and i want to be part of it by developing and supporting it as i can. 1 - Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 2 - Linux ubuntu 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 21 17:40:44 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux mtavares@ubuntu:/host/ubuntu$ apt-cache policy grub grub:   Installed: (none)   Candidate: 0.97-29ubuntu60   Version table:      0.97-29ubuntu60 0         500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages 3 && 4 - Hi all, I've installed on a desktop Ubuntu 10.10 using wubi.exe with dual-boot functionality and basically that desktop as 2 hdds.
