Bug Description

Binary package hint: dpkg

Whenever I update to the latest kernel image, dpkg completely messes up my menu.lst, making the system unbootable. My boot partition is on hd0,6, with root=/dev/hda7. The autogenerated values are hd1,6, root=/dev/hdd7.

Here is my partition listing from /etc/fstab:

/dev/hda7 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda6 /home reiserfs defaults 0 2
/dev/sda1 /mm ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda5 /spare ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda1 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hdb /ed ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hdc /media/dvdr udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrom udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0

Let me know if more info is needed.

This is nothing to do with dpkg.
