Bug Description
When installing Kubuntu 9.04 (beta) on my IBM R40, grub started with Error 18. I used the alternate installer CD with option "Guided - use entire disk and set up encrypted LVM". When using "Guided - use entire disk" every thing works fine. I had a similar problem with Kubuntu 8.10 (IIRC the installer encrypted /boot to)
With 8.04 everything worked fine. If I have time this week for another install, i'll check what the installer is doing to the partions and give more information here.

(gnome) Ubuntu 9.04 alternate disc (final),
(gnome) Ubuntu 9.04 standard disc (final)
IBM R40.
Both the regular install from the standard disc *and* the "Guided - encrypted LVM" from the alternate disc failed with Grub Error 18.
Workaround:
Did a "Guided - use entire disk", but with a custom /boot-partition of 150 MB in the start of the disk.
This turned out to work.
