Bug Description
Version Dapper Flight 4
Hardware: Compaq Proliant 400

ide1: disabled
scsi0: 18,2 GB hdd (ID 0) (Ubuntu installation target)
scsi1: disabled
ide2: Promise Fasttrack TX2000: 2x hdd (RAID 0)
ide3: Promise Fasttrack TX2000: 1x hdd (RAID 0)
Partitioning: #1: ext3fs, #5: swap
grub in MBR
Afer Server Install: GRUB error 17. Rebooted into Rescue CD mode and started grub from shell.
boot gave (hd0,0)
did setup (hd0,0)
Went OK, and GRUB started, but entries in menu.lst said (hd3,0)
altered that (by booting CD) and it went ok.
When upgrading/changing kernel, menu.lst reverted back to (hd3,0)
i.e.: Ubuntu keeps setting the wrong boot HDD. Promise is not yet configured.
Is there a workaround to keep (hd0,0) as a default for further kernel changes?
Thanx, Bubbels
Did a Kernel update and after that (hd3,0) went back on it. . .Had to use a install CD console to boot and use nano to revert menu.list to the correct values.
. . .Help. . .?
