I'm having to override installation failure termination and continue without grub install. In order to recover this effort, I perform LiveUSB boot of Ubuntu Desktop 23.04 and perform boot-repair installation and forced repair of the incomplete installation.

Besides the Bootloader installation failure, there is a secondary issue of backleveled kernel.
From original problem report: Uname: Linux 6.2.0-1003-lowlatency x86_64

As of this post for comparison:
uname -r results for Live Server 23.10 Daily and Kubuntu 23.10 Daily reports: 6.3.0-7-generic

Once I get grub installed on /dev/sda in order to boot the installed image, I then have to obtain a more current kernel including the Non-Lowlatency version.

affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) → ubuntustudio-default-settings (Ubuntu)
