I;am sorry i can't understand how it's possible.
I have 1 nvme disk for 500gb with
2 uefi boot sector by 400mb
nvme0n1p4 - fat32 with uefi for ubunru
nvme0n1p2 - was created before my installation with windows MBR.
nvme0n1p6 - ext4 250gb for ubuntu
nvme0n1p3 - ntfs near 240gb that was created with widnows.

So when i start install ubuntu i manually choose nvme0n1p4 as boot place and mount "/" to nvme0n1p6.

Can you explain me where Ubuntu installer try to install grub, and where not enough space?

P.S. i try installation with more then few times and also found one more line in logs.
"efibootmgr не может сделать загрузочную запись: нет такого устройства или адресса".
I use russian language pack.
Bit in english it can be translaate as "efibootmgr can't create boot record: no such device or adress".

So you mean 400 mb disk is not enough for grub...
Thats really strange.

The log has

Dec 5 08:11:23 ubuntu grub-installer: Выполняется установка для платформы x86_64-efi.
Dec 5 08:11:23 ubuntu grub-installer: Could not add entry to BootOrder
Dec 5 08:11:23 ubuntu grub-installer: : No space left on device
Dec 5 08:11:23 ubuntu grub-installer: grub-install: ошибка: efibootmgr не может зарегистрировать загрузочную запись: Нет такого устройства или адреса."

unsure where it's trying to write/why it's hitting that "no space left on device" issue though (or maybe it's just a redherring and a standard error displayed after hitting another error which is not standard/correctly handled)

So you can reproduce that problem every time on the machine?

Today i try one more time. Try install Ubuntu to windows boot manager uefi(500mb fat32, eps + boot flag) partition. and Remove second uefi(400mb fat32, eps + boot flag).
It's not help.

Just for smoke check i will try install arch or debian. TO understand does problem specifically in grub or in Linux distribution. But any way at then end i need run Ubuntu on my laptop.
It's my new work station, and i request i from It department as powerful station for ubuntu.
HP even provide ubuntu 16.04 as pre-installed os. http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c05940985.pdf

Issue was fixed after full reinstall of very thing.
Recreate GPT tables,
Reinstall windows 10
Reinstall all drivers for bios
and then repartion disk : add two additional partion for ubuntu uefi and ext4.
And ubuntu was successfully installed.
Have no idea where problem appeared previously.
