Bug Description

While clean installing Ubuntu 18.04 LTS from USB, it prompted me with error "Grub installation failed" message saying "The 'Grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Tried installing Kubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 18.04, both suffer from the same error.

However, installing solus and other distros works fine.

Finally i installed Ubuntu 17.10 and upgraded it to 18.04, it works.
Install 17.10 open terminal and enter following commands..

$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt upgrade
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

$ sudo apt install update-manager-core
$ sudo do-release-upgrade -d
