Installing beside Win8.1 on Acer Aspire E1-530G fails for grub-efi-amd64-signed

Tried several ways, following instructions on ubuntu community/UEFI and askubuntu.com answers. All I have tried has so far failed
to get a system where both Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu16.04 boot.

The error message during install was (in Finnish):

Paketin grub-efi-amd64-signed asennus hakemistoon /target/ epäonnistui. Asennettu järjestelmä ei käynnisty ilman GRUB-alkulatausohjelmaa.

From looking at the translation file, the error during install was in English:

The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

Looks like this bug is the same as number 1521132. That has been open since November 2015.
