It looks like grub has decided it is 32 bit even though it is not:

grub-install: error: /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/ doesn't exist. Please specify --target or --directory.

It's an apport automatically filed bug of the installer crashing. Should be pretty evident.

A t100ta can be made to be bootable by installing grub-efi-ia32 (as the efi subsystem is actually 32 bit). See for details
I can confirm that, hust went through it.
But with the t100taf neither grub-efi-ia32 nor grub-efi-amd64 work for me.
