trying to install ubuntu on a eeepc-900, grub fails to install

Bug Description
After the last update records were corrupted, I could not login, only as a guest, I was returned to the login screen.
In an other terminal (ctr-alt F1), i could login. but i could not "startX". so it can also depend on the xtreminal
I dont have a lot of data on this machine so i decided to make a clean start and reinstall the system.
ubuntu 14.4 desktop, i389
After installatie the script could not save grub, not one of the partions were suiteble.
I have a smal partition 4 gb and a bigger one 16 gb before ubuntu I used DSL
