Are there any bugs reported?
ealthuis (ealthuis) said 4 hours ago: #2

relative to this not as far as I know.

I am now trying to do an install using a 13.10 DVD

All this is a result of my earlier post and the subsequent bug #1304568 which has not to my knowledge been processed.

The 13.10 DVD installed OK, but on a restart same results.

I am beginning to feel it might be a bug. Un fortunately I cannot provide any more info as I have no access to anything, other than by another go at installing and choosing to try Ubuntu.

What is the output if you enter "set" and "lsmod" in the rescue prompt? "set" will list the current settings and prefix, and "lsmod" will give you a list of the currently loaded modules. That will at least serve as a starting point.

Today I did the install Drub2, both on sda and sdb.

The system started , all seemed well but the panel and the launcher are still missing.

I refer to my bug report #1304568, which was reported on 2014-04-08

Quinn Balazs added "affects: - unity (Ubuntu)" on 2014-04-09

No other action has been taken since then.

I cannot use this system, it contains information vital to my business, I would appreciate some contact to see how to resolve this problem.
