Bug Description

I have tried to install 12.10 on RAID 0, Intel's DX79TO motherboard with X79 chipset in variety of ways - none worked. Last attempt involved:
1.Create RAID 0 volme
2.Install windows 7 on half of this volume
3.Start 12.10 liveCD
4.Run gparted
a)it complains about GPT not being at end of disk - I clicked FIX
b)it complains about other proble (can't remember) - I clicked FIX
5.Created 2 partitions on free space:
    a) root (/)
    b) swap
6.closed gparted, started 12.10 installation
7.At partitioning step "choose something else" I have mapped mountpoint "/" and swap to recently created partitions, and set to install GRUP in main volume /dev/isw_dijcfjjjac_SYSTEM, not any partition on it.
8.Instalator complained it can't install GRUP
9. I have tried to change GRUB destination to other partitions - none worked
10.filled this bug report.

Let me know if you need additional information. I have a deadline to install Ubuntu until end of 2012, after that i'll have to give up and give PC to user with windows only :(

Sorry about your deadline. =/

Currently we do not have support for mdadm with external metadata (aka Intel Rapid/Matrix Storage) in the installer and hence we still use dmraid which has trouble reading large volumes.

Also grub-installer currently does not seem to handle imsm correctly.
