Bug Description
grossd doesn't start without a valid statefile if configured to use one. This could render your mail system unusable if it relies on the greylisting policy daemon.
Therefore, /etc/init.d/gross should check if /etc/grossd.conf contains the statefile option and check whether this file exists and is writable for the gross user. If not, it needs to be create it using /usr/sbin/grossd -C.
Ubuntu 14.10,
gross Version: 1.0.2-3

This would help in case the statefile gets lost during reboot or whatever.
