Bug Description

If you don't have xfonts-75dpi and xfonts-base (possibly also xfonts-100dpi), you get this output:

Warning: Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-medium-r-*--14-*-*-*-m-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-bold-r-*--14-*-*-*-m-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-adobe-courier-medium-r-*--12-*-*-*-m-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
Serial number of failed request: 643
Current serial number in output stream: 654

is reproducible (remove xfonts packages listed and run qmon)(also a bunch of helvetica errors).

Solution: make qmon depend on these xfonts packages.

Depeding on font packages is not allowed, see http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-customized-programs.html#s11.8.5

But recommends is an option.

Oh, and it depends already on xfonts-75dpi or xfonts-100dpi since 6.2u5-2, so I guess this bug can be closed.

Changed in gridengine (Ubuntu):
