Bug Description

Binary package hint: grandr

I am trying to update to the latest xorg on my Thinkpad X24, but I have serious troubles (bug 162136, bug 148408, bug 187967 and a few others). I am still on gutsy. Today I installed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13120036/xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.8.0%2Bgit20080404.5f5e21bb-0ubuntu0tormod_i386.deb to see about the latest status. Dual-head is still not working well, so I thought I'd give grandr a try which crashed on me as soon as I clicked on the icon for the internal display (see attached crash log). Feel free to ask further questions in case I forgot something important.

Please try in Hardy also. Can you try to get a debug backtrace with gdb?

(uploading your crash log without coredump so it can be viewed without exploding the browser)

well, it is fixed in the hardy package which I backported to gutsy (see my ppa). I am quite sure this is a dupe of bug 127829.

Excellent, I'll mark it as a duplicate then. You can also request an official StableReleaseUpdate or backport to Gutsy of the Hardy version.
