Bug Description

I am looking for a new gramps version of 4.1.2.2, but I cannnot get it in Ubuntu 14.04. I use this version in windows 7.
Today I tried to remove this version but I obtained an error.
I am going to install the debian version python3-gramps_4.2.0-beta1_all.deb.
I try also the installation with wine software.

I am a little unclear what you are trying to do, and why you are not happy with the version of Gramps that was provided at the time that Ubuntu Trusty was released (4.0.3).

It looks like you installed a beta version of Gramps 4.2.0 from the Gramps Project website, and now you are trying to re-install the original version. To do this, you will need to uninstall the beta version first, as the upstream beta version has a different package name, and Synaptic does not know that the two packages with different names are the same package.

The latest version of Gramps available for Trusty is 4.0.4, but you will have to enable the backports resository to get this version (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports).

If you want a later version than this then I recommend you install a more stable version from the Gramps Project website (e.g. 4.1.3). But don't expect an automatic upgrade to a newer version once you start using the versions from the Gramps Project Website.

I understand that I were unclear to you about what I did. I confess that
the story of my gedcom/gramps files is complicated because falses
manipulations have got errors and the opening/the repairing files became
impossible. Fortunatly I have saved my files.
The truly explanation is, that I use a dual-boot system between windows7
and ubuntu 14.04.
At the begining I used only the 4.03 in ubuntu 14.04 version but it run
length.
Then I have tried the 4.1.2.2 version that I have found in the Gramps site
and I installed it in windows 7. I discovered new interesting functions
about the order of the geographic places and I decided to continue with it.
But I appreciate the ubuntu14.04 trusty version, and I have researched a
gramps package who seemed the windows7 new version 4.1.2.2 and I
discovered the 4.2.0 version and I intalled by the logithec ubuntu. I
though it was better. 4.2 run well. But when I have download the saved
gramps file in the 4.2, I have lost a part of the title of the place as the
postal code but not the district nor the states. The rest enjoys me.
Thank-you for the answer.
Best regards.

Closing, as it is not a bug with gramps, and a "non-distro" version of gramps was installed. In anycase, I will be adding a Conflicts/Replaces stanza to Gramps 4.2.0 so that switching back to the "distro" gramps after installing the upstream one will go a bit smoother in the future.
