GPRename fails to launch in Ubuntu Mate 16.04

Bug Description

GPRename fails to launch.

Release is Ubuntu Mate 16.04.1 LTS, MATE Desktop Environment 1.12.1
Version installed is gprename 20140325-1
When clicking on shortcut on the menu, one expects the application to launnch
When clicking on shortcut via the menu, the desktop flickers then nothing happen.
From command-line the following error is displayed: "Path doesn't exist!"

Reinstalled the application and now the .desktop file is missing.

Using the gprename.desktop file from version 2.6.6-1 does not help, the explanation on previous message happens.
