error launching gprename in ubuntu 14.04

Bug Description
the following error is observed when running gprename in a terminal
variable not allowed to be undef where GtkTreeIter is wanted at /usr/bin/gprename line 1532.
The application fails to launch

I can confirm, the bug affects multiple users. I am using gprename on Ubuntu 13.04.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Plug in a USB drive, go into any directory wihin the USB drive.
2. Open a terminal window in the directory.
3. Launch the gprename from the terminal.
And it will throw the errors mentioned by the user above named "fossfreedom (fossfreedom) "...
