Bug Description

Dell XPS 13 9360 has both a compatibility PS/2 trackpad device and an i2c one. Settings can be changed on the PS/2 device, but after these are applied and before the i2c device settings are applied, the app crashes. I've now disabled the PS/2 device, so I effectively can't control any settings. This happens even if I don't change anything and immediately click apply.

From the command line, I see:

  *** stack smashing detected ***: gpointing-device-settings terminated

gpointing-device-settings 1.6.0~git20150314.de7fe9e7-1 on Ubuntu 17.04 amd64.
