Thanks for your bug report. Can you please attach a complete crash report of that crash? Yours does not seem to contain a CoreDump.

Changed in gpixpod:

importance: Undecided → Medium
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

How can I get one? I think I should use gcore, but I ain't sure about when generating a core file.

This is because, at the moment, a window saying that the program crashed appears, but gpixpod keeps running. Moreover, launching gpixpod from terminal, I noticed that the UnboundLocalError exception is always thrown upon startup (even if an iPod isn't plugged in).

I can confirm that GPixPod crashes upon startup, no matter if an ipod is conneced or not (cf. bug 84510).

8.04 (Hardy) RC, with updates as recent as 2008-04-19.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

Does this occur in Lucid?

In Maverick Meerkat, with no iPod attached, started via primary clicking Applications -> Graphics, and via Terminal. Did not crash either way. Terminal initiation output:

gpixpod
/usr/lib/gpixpod/gpixpod.py:112: GtkWarning: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated
  self.win = gtk.glade.XML('gpixpod.glade', 'window1', 'gpixpod')
