I know for a fact that my partitions are messed up if that's any help. That's what I'm trying to fix ;)

Changed in gparted (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I am also amd64 and the Maverick Release Candidate. My partitions are fine, but it gets to scanning /dev/sda when it crashes.

I'm seeing this crash as well after I installed two new drives. It crashed when I first ran it (as well as showing /dev/sdb: unrecognised disk label). I used fdisk and wrote an empty partition table to this disks. I re-ran gparted and it still crashed.
