Hard disk combo box should provide the disk label

Bug Description

The hard disk combo box in the top right of the manual installer only displays the UNIX device node for the disk (such as /dev/hda1).

When installing on a system with more than one hard disk it is difficult to identify which disk is disk. This combo box should ideally show the label for the disk.

I agree. I also think it should make it possible to edit the label wherever possible.

The current version of GParted (0.5.0) displays the device node for the disk and the disk size in the disk device combo list. E.g., /dev/sdd (149.05 GB).

By disk label, do you mean display the partition table type such as "MSDOS" or "GPT", or some other type of disk label?

The partition table type (also known as disk label) is shown in the "Device Information" panel which is accessible from the menu "View --> Device Information".

As Curtis mentioned, the meaning of "disk label" is unclear. Since this was never described adequately, I'm closing this report.
