Hardy live cd gparted fails to start with 'Failed to execute child process "su-to-root" (No such file or directory)'

Steps to reproduce:

Boot into the Live environment, select Partition Editor from the Administration menu, errors with:

Failed to execute child process "su-to-root" (No such file or directory)
