Bug Description

1) Lubuntu 12.10 i386 Beta2 25 September 2012, 03:06
2) gparted 0.12.1-1
3) In the live session I expect gparted to finish scanning drives so the application can be used.
4) If gparted does not finish scanning in a minute I assume it is not going to finish. I have reported problems with gparted before the bug numbers are bug #1044111 and bug #1029149 perhaps these bugs are related to gparted scanning while in live session.
I have attached a screenshot displaying the scanning process.

gparted seems to take specific devices as arguments e.g. 'sudo gparted /dev/sda'. Perhaps you could narrow this done by checking individual devices in your environment. Thanks!

Changed in gparted (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Incomplete

Brian

80GB HDD /dev/sda
250GB HDD /dev/sdb

I do not know if this matters but here is a comparison list I made.
Xubuntu 12.10 Beta2 installed to 80Gb Hdd
gnome-disk-utility works No Bug
gparted works No Bug
hardInfo works No Bug

Lubuntu 12.10 Beta2 Live USB
gnome-disk-utility Bug#983681
gparted Bug#1056540
hard Info Bug#1029212

Thanks

Is this BIOS of this machine configured to think that it has a floppy drive, when in fact, it does not?
