Bug Description

Having just installed LinuxMint-9 RC version and found most favourites that I have added to be working, I thought I'd try a favourite in LinuxMint-7 and LinuxMint-8, ie GoogleEarth.
Package or Software Manager offered googleearth, googleearth-data and googleearth-package (and dependencies), but no matter what I then do, only the Hints and Tips window appears and operates, with the main Google Earth window being blank, so is a vital dependency link missing or something ?

Thank you someone.

Today's Updates or repository dependency changes have resulted in the added Google Earth initialising properly and the main window springing into life !

I can once again enjoy one of my favourite 'toys' in installed 'justDVD', 64-bit LinuxMint-9.

For the record, Problem solved !

Oops, spoke too soon, it's stopped working !
Start-Up Tip working, with a blank main window again.

A belated afterthought.

Could the current Isadora version packages have an embedded 'run only once' hidden flag capability, unlike the Gloria and Helena versions ?

Wow, this is really weird.

Having 'left it running', displaying a blanked window, decided to 'drag'n'drop' reduce the blanked window size and it then suddenly sprang into life !

I am now used to maximise/un-maximise/maximise a few seconds after invoking it, so I'd now call it 'a quirk', not 'a serious bug'.

Hi Bruce R,

Thanks for reporting this bug to us. It looks like there could be a problem either in the googleearth package or the graphics drivers you're using.

Marking as upstream.
