Bug Description

Google Gadgets do not remember locations. When the session is restarted, all gadgets jump back into the sidebar.

If one has carefully set up gadgets on the desktop, or in Compiz's widget layer, all positioning and size information will disappear at session restart, and gadgets will again be sitting in the sidebar, whether it was turned on at last session or not.

Steps to repeat: 1. Open Google Gadgets and add to Session Auto-start. 2. Uncheck sidebar from right clicking the dock icon. 3) Place icons in positions and resize them. 4) Restart Session. You will see all Gadgets back in the Sidebar.

Ubuntu 8.10
Google Gadgets version: 0.10.5-1~getdeb2 0

An easy way to work around the problem is:
1) first, exit Google Gadgets (in this way all settings are saved)
2) then shut down the compiuter
You have to repeat the sequence every time you modify Gadgets locations.

How do so many people commenting here assume that OP's photo is of the camera in its hidden position? Obviously if it was hidden it might be hard to show in a photo, so OP would've moved it into the open to show us the camera. I honestly don't get how so many commenters here are assuming the weird and highly unlikely case that OP things this easily visible thing is hidden, when the totally obvious case of "OP moved it to take a picture of it after they discovered it" is staring us in the face. It's the simplest and most straightforward interpretation yet so many people seem not to even consider it a possibility. It's so weird!

If you don't *need* to nurse him to get him to go to sleep, then it's not a major crutch for him--not that it being one is an awful thing at his age.

If you suspect he's not hungry, try to soothe him other ways for a few minutes. If he starts sucking on his hands, rooting, and otherwise getting more awake, try nursing. If you suspect he *is* hungry, I always went for boob right away and then reevaluated if ours didn't seem to be nursing productively.

This is late, but I figured you'd appreciate some more input. I just got done with my first semester and I think the program is really great. The resources we have access to are amazing considering the cost of tuition. The only thing is you have to be really on the ball about reserving equipment for you projects, because the equipment room is understandably limited. However, the only people who weren't able to finish their projects were the ones who weren't taking it seriously in the first place. As long as you are serious about what you're doing, you'll be fine.

As far as the graduate school, it isn't open yet. But, considering the cost, the fact that it's actually located on a production lot, and (I'm assuming) equipment will be more limited than other graduate programs, I'm guessing that it'll be fairly competitive.

Subject: Baton Rouge?

was on mobile... meant total cost per month of the total purchase and operating expense. A brand new Hyundai does not cost 'zero' dollars to operate. The warranty usually only covers things that break, not consumables that every vehicle requires like oil changes, gas, tires, batteries, insurance, etc.. Like /u/to3m above pointed out, if you do the math, a brand new economical vehicle like a Hyundai will cost more per month to purchase and operate than 10 year old german luxury vehicle that has been well maintained.

here is why: Germans build well engineered machines that do require relatively high-maintenance, but they use very high quality materials and superior standards than Japanese and Korean vehicles. These vehicles, when well maintained, last a very long time and deliver a good ride quality. Because of the high-maintenance factor, they tend to get overlooked, or even looked down upon by Americans who have been conditioned to think cars should be very low maintenance. Therefore, used German luxury cars typically sell for a much lower price.
Germans take pride and value in higher maintenance vehicles and drive single models much longer periods. Where as americans value convenience and low maintenance vehicles produced by American, Japanese and Korean manufacturers.

So not all bmw, merc, or audi drivers are in it for the badge or the vanity. Some in the US, like myself, do value the nicer ride, quality materials and don't mind doing the higher maintenance required to keep an older vehicle running in great shape. I see a lot more 15+ good condition german cars on road than 10+ year old Hyundais. Toyotas typically rust out in that period of time, acuras and hondas have great engines, but the interiors disintegrate after a period of time. Look at the sheet metal and plastic on 8 year old hyundai, its looks like garbage, wavy, easily dented, trim falls off, road noise up the wazzoo. Many GM cars are just fleet vehicles with 5-6 year lifespans built into them. Its not that they are bad vehicles, they are just built with different standards. And that standard, over the course of time, means you will be buying more of them, and costing more than investing in higher quality luxury brand.
