This will need a merge as Ubuntu currently has a delta against Debian on golang. Matthias, can you take care of this please or do you need someone else to contribute the merge?

Dave, I could but the current state is sufficient - without a release-specific bug task we mean the development release.

sorry, other priorities at the moment. feel free to steal the merge. don't drop
the fake packages yet. not a final solution, but we shouldn't regress.
