Bug Description

Hello dear great team behind the golang packages...

May I kindly suggest a migration to golang-1.11?

Golang v1.11 is out there: https://golang.org/dl/

PS: I am currently using ubuntu 18.04 bionic, but I am open to anything...

Have a great day,
Jean

Why use a package manager if the packages are not updated in a regular manner?
Fast developing stuff like golang should receive quick updates.

Installing go using `snap install go --classic` installs go version 1.12.7

Probably it is better do use snap here and drop the go provided by apt completely.
