"vivid" series emulator image cannot be detected by adb

Bug Description
When trying to use a "15.04" series emulator in the Ubuntu SDK, the qtcreator plugin does not detect startup of the device. hence, the emulator is unusable.
adb devices detects an "offline" device
adb shell also gives "error: device is offline"
Trying "14.10" a series emulator works.
