Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnucash

Print a register report in gnucash.
Rightmost couple of characters are clipped.

I've printed to PS and to PDF files and the results are the same
when those files are viewed by evince as printing directly to
my cups HP LJ 4L printer.

This is a bad bug in that I'm hunting around for a live CD distro
with gnucash that I can run on my ubuntu/edgy system in order
to be able to print of reports. I've also unsuccessfully tried
to import my gnucash files into other accounting packages
in order to print of necessary reports.

Googling around I see others reporting problems with both
the printing of reports and the inability to set font size.
No clear resolution noted.

Workaround is to export as an html file, then view that file in a
browser, then print from the browser.

Hi Heitzso

Thanks for taking time to report this particular bug.

Do you still have this issue with the latest Gnucash 2.2.1 release from Gutsy or Feisty backport?

If you still have this bug, can-you attach a PDF printed report ?

I finally had an opportunity to test the gnucash print feature/problem yesterday.
My current system is gutsy.
It worked fine for me, though I admit that I only printed off a single report.
Thanks.

Thanks for your comment.

Most probably that this bug has been fixed, so I'll set the status of the bug to invalid but if you can reproduce the bug with gnucash 2.2.1 in Gutsy, I suggest that you set back the status of this bug to confirmed.

can-you attach a PDF printed report which represent this issue ?

Unfortunately, a pdf printed report looks totally different from the laser printed one. If I try to create a PDF, the preview looks correct but the pdf is portrait rather than landscape.

Can you print with the Gutsy PDF printer rather than the PDF function of Gnucash? Or print within a postscript file, or take a photo/scan the printed report?

Also can you try printing the same report with another printer to see if you can reproduce the problem on another printer?

Here's a scan of the printout. When I print to PDF I'm running into a different bug.

The only physical printer I have is the HP Laserjet 5MP.

Thanks for these informations. I set the status of this bug to triaged and the Importance to low. I linked the already existing upstream bug which describes the same problem.
