Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnucash
In Karmic gnucash is not able to retrieve stock quotes, although finance::quote works perfectly:
~$ gnc-fq-dump yahoo IFX.DE
Finance::Quote fields Gnucash uses:
symbol: IFX.DE <=== required
date: 02/17/2010 <=== required
currency: EUR <=== required
last: 4.089 <=\
nav: <=== one of these
price: 4.089 <=/
timezone: <=== optional
If I add a stock with symbol IFX.DE and tell it to use yahoo to retrieve the quotes, then go to Tools->quotes database->retrieve quotes it says
Abrufen von Börsenkursen für diese Werte fehlgeschlagen:
XETRA:623100
Mit den benutzbaren Kursen fortsetzen?
which translates to: Retrieving the following quotes failed: XETRA:... continue with the usable quotes?
The same issue comes up if I try other sources or other stocks. There is no stock quote Gnucash is able to retrieve.
Please delete this bug.
It took me 2 day's to figure out, that I have entered the stocks symbol into the wrong input box in gnucash.
Sorry, everything is working as expected.
