Bug Description

Tried gnubiff versions: 2.2.9 and 2.2.10 (compiled from src). Launched as desktop application in gnome and as gnome applet.

Everything works fine until suspend. After resume gnubiff marks mailboxes' status as "error" and do not recover indefinitely. In terminal gnubiff drops this msg for each mailbox:
** (gnubiff:24335): WARNING **: [1] Unable to connect to {server address} on port {port number}.
After gnubiff restart or mailboxes config's reinit - program is functioning normally.

EDIT: The same thing happens when using a wireless connection on my laptop. Since the wireless connection is not established immediately on login (waiting for authentication), and gnubiff checks as soon as it starts running, the first check throws an error and the program never recovers unless I restart the program or reconfig the mailboxes.

I can confirm this. I use gnubiff 2.2.10 from repos under ubuntu 8.10. This is boring cause this make gnubiff unusuable on a laptop that hibernate/resume frequently...

I can confirm this bug still exists in Jaunty. Using a wireless laptop, coming out of suspend gnubiff errors out of my inboxes and never tries again unless I restart it or check the settings. This also happens if there's any break in the connection to the email server, either by wireless dropping out, or simply network congestion. Rather than simply marking as 'error' and never checking again, gnubiff should continue checking on the same time cycle it's been set to check so it can update again on its own.

Marking this bug as confirmed because it happens to several users.

Is this still an issue?

In general, it seems as if gnubiff has trouble recovering from intermittent connections and suspend.
