Looks like this is fixed in gnome.

Needs new at-spi, gail, atk and patch for gnopernicus.

I've uploaded a new GTK patched:

 gtk+2.0 (2.6.1-1ubuntu3) hoary; urgency=low
 .
   * debian/patches/004_gtkmodules.patch:
     - don't reverse the order of modules, that fix a crash with the modules.

That seems to fix the issue since it doesn't crash with it. Are you sure than
at-spi/gail/atk need to be patched ?

Don't know. Just had a look at the other patches for atk ,etc. They are just for
debug. So I guess no.
Don't have my ubuntu laptop handy today. Will try it out later. Thanks.

That looks fine. No speech as yet but magnifier works, and menu launches.
