Bug Description

If I try to add 700 megabytes of files onto a data CD in gnomebaker, it tells me
there isn't enough space to do that.

If I try to add 700 megabytes of files onto a data CD in gnomebaker, it tells me
there isn't enough space to do that.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load GnomeBaker ( Applications -> Accessories -> GnomeBaker)

2. Make sure you are on the "Data Disk" tab and have "700MB CD" selected."

3. Try to add 2 files each about 345 to 350 megabytes in size.

An error appears saying:
"File or directory is too large to fit in the remaining space on the CD"

Which doesn't seem right, since if I go and install "k3b" and do the same
operation with 345 to 350 megabyte files being added to total about 700
megabytes, k3b has no problems adding the files and has no problems burning them.

This bug has been fixed in the latest gnomebaker version (0.5.1). Could this version be included in Dapper?

fixed upstream, is any motu wanting to ask an uvf exception for it? (0.5.0 with some cvs stuff to 0.5.1)

It's sad to say, but this bug still exists in 0.5.1
version - I've tried to write full 700 MB CD from Baltix-Linux CD image (ls -lk shows, that size of .iso file is 719466 KB),
but Gnomebaker told me, that data will not fit on my CD-RW
disk (CD-RW disk was blank) :(

cdrecord -v dev=/dev/cdrom Baltix-Linux-1.2_i386.iso did not
produced any errors and also told be, that few block in
CD-RW disk still will be free after writing.
For 0.5.1 debs for Ubuntu 5.10 "Breezy" and sources (taken from Debian unstable) look at ftp.akl.lt/Linux/Baltix/Baltix-Ubuntu_packages/gnomebaker/)

Because of this I'm reopening this bug.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
